Esther has a broad range of experience, from her 20-years in the health and fitness industry working with clients from a diverse background, to working within medical practices, corporate health and wellness, gyms and personal training studios in both Australia and Singapore. She also has extensive experience in the private sector with her focus in corporate wellness and exercise rehabilitation in clinics, hospitals, and community centres.
Esther completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) at Australian Catholic University in 2000, Graduate Diploma in Exercise for Rehabilitation at Victoria University in 2005 and a Master of Applied Science (Exercise Rehabilitation) at Victoria University in 2006.
Esther started her career in Singapore as a Sales & Marketing Executive and Event Co-ordinator in one of the leading Corporate Gyms in 2000 – 2004. She was later deployed to assist in the setting up of a new Personal Training gym, with the responsibility of managing its daily operations which include managing the Personal Trainers, Membership Marketing and Administration, Conducting Physical Fitness Assessment, and Programs Planning. Throughout her career, Esther has successfully organized many club events such as mini triathlons, biathlons, midnight cycling, bowling tournaments, soccer tournaments, basketball tournaments, and road relays and led the members to participate in major national marathons and triathlons.
Esther decided to pursue her Masters as she felt it would be good challenge to train a more diverse group of people. She started working at the YMCA while studying her Masters and also worked at a local community health centre running the Arthritis and Cardiac Rehab groups.
Esther also draws on her own experience with lower back pain (bulging disc and spinal stenosis) and the adaptations she made to her training regime to help others with similar injuries to train smarter.
Esther is also passionate about triathlons (Sprint, Olympic and Half-ironman) and has completed numerous competitions in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. She was a keen Judo participant in her childhood and a competitive tennis player in her teenage years.
Her passion is to provide valuable educational tools through her vast range of experience to assist in achieving optimal health for all.
